Lisa has described Jisoo, Jennie and Rosé as an ongoing source of support while BLACKPINK’s four members develop careers beyond their work together.
The comments were reported around the Toronto International Film Festival premiere of Lisa’s documentary, Always LALISA. Lisa said the members remain in contact and had sent messages expressing interest in seeing the film.
Lisa describes BLACKPINK as family
Although BLACKPINK’s members have built separate schedules and business arrangements for their individual work, Lisa presented their relationship as personal rather than limited to group promotions. She referred to the other members as sisters, family and best friends.
That distinction matters because Lisa’s documentary focuses attention on her identity outside BLACKPINK. Support from Jisoo, Jennie and Rosé connects that individual story to the relationship the four performers developed during their years working together.
The available reporting does not establish whether the three members attended the premiere. It supports only that Lisa discussed remaining in touch with them and receiving encouraging messages about the documentary.
Background: Lisa’s solo career has expanded beyond group releases
Lisa has been developing an independent body of work while remaining a BLACKPINK member. In April 2024, LLOUD and RCA Records announced a partnership for her solo recordings. She later released the full-length album Alter Ego, which reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart and No. 7 on the Billboard 200, according to a subsequent residency announcement.
Her work has also moved into acting and documentary filmmaking. A June 2026 Vanity Fair profile discussed her role in The White Lotus, her next solo album and her relationship with the other BLACKPINK members. In that interview, Lisa described an especially close early bond with Rosé, saying they became like twin sisters.
Lisa is also scheduled to present VIVA LA LISA at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas on November 13, 14, 27 and 28, 2026. The announced residency gives her another solo format distinct from BLACKPINK’s stadium and arena concerts.
Why it matters for BLACKPINK’s international audience
Lisa’s remarks offer a direct answer to one question created by the members’ parallel careers: whether individual labels, albums, acting roles and live projects have separated the performers personally.
Her account indicates that solo expansion and continued group ties are operating at the same time. For international fans, that means Lisa’s documentary should not automatically be read as a departure narrative. It is another part of a broader structure in which the members can develop separate creative identities while continuing to identify one another as family.
