Editorial Policy

This page sets out how KoreaPopDesk articles are researched, written, checked, and corrected. It applies to everything published on this site.

Sourcing

Every article begins from a specific, identifiable published source — an official announcement or company statement, a chart or awards body, a court or regulatory filing, or a report by an established news organisation. A publisher homepage, a social media profile page, a search results page, or an aggregator screenshot is not accepted as a source.

Where a claim is significant, we look for a second independent source before publishing it. Official and primary sources are preferred over secondary reports of them. Sources used in an article are listed at the foot of that article with links, so a reader can check the original for themselves.

Verification

Before an article is published, its factual claims are separated into three groups: what is verified, what could not be verified, and where sources disagree with one another.

• Verified facts are published.
• Unverified claims are left out entirely. We do not publish a claim in softened language in order to include it anyway.
• Where sources conflict, the conflict is resolved by a person before publication, or the article does not run. We never silently pick one version.

Quantitative language is preserved exactly as reported. "More than", "about", "roughly", and "at least" are not interchangeable and are not swapped for one another. Figures, dates, chart positions, and attendance numbers are taken from the source and not rounded or dramatised.

AI assistance and human review

We are open about this: KoreaPopDesk uses software we built ourselves to gather sources and produce a first draft. That is a tool, not a publisher.

No article is published automatically. Every piece is read and approved by a person before it goes live, and that review covers the headline, the body, the sourcing, the images, and the accompanying social copy. An article that fails the checks above is held or dropped. A person, not a system, decides what is published on this site.

Images

Lead images are publicity material, official artwork, or promotional imagery used for news reporting and commentary, attributed to the source where one is identified. Where an image has been edited or composed for KoreaPopDesk, it is presented as a KoreaPopDesk graphic and not as documentary photography. We do not present an edited image as a real photograph of an event.

Corrections

When we get something wrong, we correct the article itself and add a dated note at the foot of the piece explaining what changed. We do not delete a story to make a mistake disappear, and we do not rewrite it silently.

To report an error, use the contact page. Tell us the article and the specific detail, with a source if you have one.

Independence

KoreaPopDesk is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by any Korean entertainment agency, broadcaster, brand, or retailer we write about.

We do not sell editorial coverage. We do not publish sponsored articles presented as reporting. Receiving a product, a ticket, or press access does not commit us to coverage and never commits us to favourable coverage. Advertising and affiliate arrangements are handled separately from editorial decisions and are described on our affiliate disclosure page.

What we do not publish

• Unverified rumours about anyone's private life, relationships, health, or finances
• Speculation presented as reporting
• Claims traced only to anonymous social media accounts
• Content that identifies or targets private individuals
