What happens when a woman’s electric power becomes the only thing keeping a man’s artificial heart alive?
That unusual question is at the center of Take Charge of My Heart, Netflix’s new Korean romantic comedy starring Kim Young-kwang and Chae Soo-bin.
The series premiered globally on Netflix on October 9, 2026. It combines classic Korean romance with fantasy, comedy and a high-concept medical storyline.
What Is Take Charge of My Heart About?
The story follows a corporate heir whose artificial heart is running out of power. His carefully controlled life changes when he meets a woman who can generate electricity through her body.
The two characters make a deal that could help keep his heart working. However, their unusual connection quickly becomes more complicated as personal feelings begin to develop.
Netflix describes the series as a romance between a man with an artificial heart and a woman who is literally electric.
Kim Young-kwang and Chae Soo-bin Lead the Cast
Kim Young-kwang plays the male lead, a wealthy heir whose health problem forces him to depend on an unexpected source of energy.
Chae Soo-bin plays the female lead, a woman whose electric ability becomes central to the story. Her character brings a more unpredictable and humorous energy to the relationship.
The chemistry between the two leads is expected to be one of the main attractions for viewers who enjoy Korean romantic comedies.
A Different Kind of Korean Romance
Many Korean romantic comedies focus on workplace relationships, family conflicts or contract dating. Take Charge of My Heart uses a more unusual fantasy concept to create tension between the two main characters.
The artificial heart and electrical ability are not only plot devices. They also represent the emotional distance between the characters. The closer they become, the more difficult it may be to separate the practical relationship from genuine romance.
This combination gives the series a playful tone while still leaving room for emotional moments.
When and Where Can You Watch It?
Take Charge of My Heart is now available on Netflix as a Korean limited series. Viewers can watch it through the official Netflix website or app, depending on regional availability.
The series is based on the Korean web novel Charge Me Up. It is directed by Park Soo-won and written by Song You-chae.
Because the story combines Korean romance with fantasy and technology-inspired ideas, it may appeal to viewers who enjoy shows with a lighter and more unusual premise.
Will This New K-Drama Become a Global Hit?
Netflix continues to introduce Korean dramas to audiences around the world, and romantic comedies remain one of the most popular Korean content genres among international viewers.
Take Charge of My Heart has a simple question at its center: can two people who need each other for survival eventually fall in love?
Whether viewers are attracted by the cast, the fantasy concept or the romantic comedy elements, the series offers a fresh option for anyone looking for a new Korean drama to watch this week.
