Moon Ga-young and Cha Eun-woo could return to the small screen together in a new romance project, but the reunion remains at the offer stage.
Moon’s agency, Fantagio, confirmed on September 8 that the actress had received an offer for Seorabeol Knife, a working title, and was reviewing it. Cha has also been linked to the project, creating the possibility that the two actors could lead another drama after True Beauty.
What has been confirmed about Seorabeol Knife
Reports describe Seorabeol Knife as a cooking-centered romance associated with director Jang Tae-yu. His television credits include My Love from the Star and Bon Appétit, Your Majesty.
The project has been reported as being in discussions for a tvN broadcast. That wording is important: neither the channel nor a premiere window has been formally confirmed in the available reporting.
Fantagio’s statement establishes that Moon is considering an offer, rather than confirming that she has joined the cast. Cha’s participation likewise remains under discussion. Character names, detailed roles and a finalized supporting cast have not been announced through the sources reviewed.
The current news is therefore about a possible casting combination, not a completed reunion. Production details may change while negotiations continue.
Background: Their first drama together
Moon and Cha previously starred opposite each other in tvN’s True Beauty, which aired from December 9, 2020, to February 4, 2021. The romantic comedy was adapted from the webtoon of the same name.
Moon played Lim Ju-gyeong, a student who uses makeup while dealing with insecurity about her appearance. Cha portrayed Lee Su-ho, a popular student carrying emotional wounds of his own. Hwang In-youp co-starred as Han Seo-jun, placing the three characters at the center of the drama’s romance.
True Beauty ran for 16 episodes, meaning Seorabeol Knife would represent a new drama pairing rather than a continuation of Ju-gyeong and Su-ho’s story. The possible casting is drawing notice because Moon and Cha have not led another television series together since that production.
There is also a more recent professional connection between the actors. Moon signed an exclusive contract with Fantagio in July 2026, joining an agency whose roster already included Cha. Her move was announced before reports connecting her to Seorabeol Knife.
Why it matters for international viewers
If both offers are accepted, international K-drama viewers would see a familiar pairing in a different genre framework. Instead of returning to the school setting and webtoon adaptation behind True Beauty, the reported project would place the actors in a romance built around cooking.
That distinction also sets expectations for viewers encountering the news through reunion headlines. Seorabeol Knife has been presented as a separate production, not a second season or spin-off of True Beauty. Any roles the two actors take would be new characters.
The lack of a confirmed broadcaster and release date also means there is no verified information yet about international distribution, subtitles or streaming availability. Viewers should treat those details, along with the casting itself, as undecided until the companies involved issue further announcements.
For now, the concrete development is limited but clear: Moon has an offer under review, Cha has been linked to the same project, and Seorabeol Knife remains a prospective reunion rather than a confirmed drama lineup.
