CHUNG HA Returns With ‘México’ — A Latin-Pop Escape Arrives in Three Languages

CHUNG HA is officially back. The K-pop soloist released her new digital single “México” on September 1 at 6 p.m. KST, marking her first new single in approximately seven months.

This time, CHUNG HA is looking beyond a conventional comeback with a Latin-pop-inspired track built around escape, freedom and the courage to discover a different version of yourself.

CHUNG HA Escapes to “México”

“México” follows CHUNG HA's February digital single “Save me.”

The concept centers on breaking away from repetitive routines and feelings of emptiness, leaving everything behind and traveling somewhere unfamiliar where a new life can begin.

Rather than simply using Mexico as a backdrop, the song presents it as a symbolic destination — a place associated with escaping pressure and rediscovering yourself.

A New Latin-Pop Direction

“México” adds another international flavor to CHUNG HA's catalog.

The track begins with a relatively minimal arrangement before expanding into a more energetic Latin-pop sound, combining CHUNG HA's vocals with prominent brass elements, layered production and a rhythmic chorus.

The result fits naturally with CHUNG HA's reputation as one of K-pop's strongest solo performers while giving her choreography and performance style a different musical setting.

There Are Three Versions of “México”

The release also has a particularly global twist.

The digital single includes three versions: the main “México” track, “Mexico (English Version)” and “México (Versión Español).”

Releasing English and Spanish versions alongside the main track gives CHUNG HA a direct way to reach listeners well beyond the traditional Korean K-pop market.

Seven Months Since “Save me”

The comeback arrives approximately seven months after “Save me,” which was released in February 2026.

CHUNG HA began teasing “México” in August, gradually revealing its visual concept and release date before the single and music video arrived on September 1.

The release also kicks off a busy September for K-pop, with several major artists scheduled to return throughout the month.

CHUNG HA has spent years moving between dance-pop, R&B and other international influences, and “México” continues that experimentation.
